On 31 December 2024, Mr Chan Tsz-tat was appointed as the new Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Hong Kong, China, and assumed the role of Vice-Chairperson for the A/P Region of the WCO following Ms Louise Ho’s retirement from the Hong Kong Customs after 33 years of dedicated service. With 30 years of service in Hong Kong Customs, Mr Chan has extensive experience in departmental operations, along with strong management and leadership skills. He endeavours to advance the WCO’s Strategic Plan and enhance regional Customs cooperation by taking on a pivotal leadership role. He also aspires to improve the effectiveness of regional enforcement operations and facilitate trade through enhancing the efficiency of Customs processes.
