The 11th bilateral meeting between Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DGCE) of the Republic of Indonesia was held in Lombok, Indonesia on 5 September 2013.
The Malaysian delegation was led by Y. Bhg. Dato’ Sri Khazali Bin Hj. Ahmad, Director General of RMCD and the Indonesian delegation was led by Mr. Agung Kuswandono, Director General of Customs and Excise of the Republic of Indonesia.
Y. Bhg. Dato’ Sri Khazali Bin Hj. Ahmad and Mr. Agung Kuswandono co-chaired the meeting and both Directors General highlighted the need to enhance and continue cooperation on customs matters between both Customs Administrations in their opening remarks. The meeting discussed and shared information on the following matters:

Cooperation on customs matters namely Authorized Economic Operators (AEO) program and Self Certification under the ASEAN Trade in Goods (ATIGA) scheme.

Cooperation on enforcement matters including joint investigation and operation on handling smuggling of Narcotic, Psychotropic and Precursors (NPP) as well as formal implementation of Local Border Committee (LBC).
During the meeting both Customs Administrations had agreed to cooperate and exchange information on a wide range of matters including to further enhance cooperation on AEO with a view of establishing Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), to harmonize the implementation of the Pilot Project of Self Certification under the ATIGA scheme to be brought as an action at the forthcoming ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 and to continue and strengthen cooperation on joint investigation and operation on handling smuggling of NPP, by designating contact points from both Customs Administrations.
